Immediately after the
iPhone 14 family was put on the market, rumors arrived about the new models that will arrive in 2023, i.e. iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro and a probable iPhone 15 Ultra. Here are the key innovations of the new Apple smartphones that millions of enthusiasts around the world are anxiously awaiting:
Models: The 2023 iPhone 15s will likely be four with 6.1-inch or 6.7-inch screens. On the one hand the less expensive
iPhone 15 and
iPhone 15 Plus (or Max), on the other the iPhone 15 Pro and probably the iPhone 15 Ultra with a higher price and features. The design of the new iPhones should not change compared to the iPhone 14 family. All iPhone 15 models could have the Dynamic Island.
iPhone 15 release and price: the new models will in all probability be available during autumn 2023, as per tradition, at an even higher price than the current generation of iPhones. In particular, Forbes has reported an indiscretion on the possible price of the
iPhone 15 Ultra, which apparently will be the most expensive Apple smartphone ever. It would start in the United States from a price of 1,299 dollars, 200 dollars more than the
iPhone 14 Pro Max. This means that in Sri Lanka we could see an even more significant increase in the price.
iPhone 15 Ultra would therefore replace a possible iPhone 15 Pro Max, as reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. There is talk of an even more resistant iPhone with a titanium body, a very light material. It will be a "super top of the range", also in terms of price.
All new iPhone 15s will have the USB-C port for charging and ditch the Lightning connector. Apple will therefore obey the European directives, equipping the new iPhones with this universal connector, to the delight of many enthusiasts who will be able to use power supplies and accessories already in their possession. In a tweet by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is hypothesized that only the iPhone 15 Pro and higher will offer USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 connections, therefore faster for transferring large video files or ProRAW photos. iPhone 15 instead should have a USB-C port with speeds compliant with USB 2.0, just like the Lightning port.
Cameras: from a photographic point of view, iPhone 15 Ultra could be the only model to mount a periscopic lens, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It is a technology that offers optical zoom capabilities that exceed those possible with a standard telephoto lens, allowing for 5x or even 10x zoom.
Processors: the iPhone 15 and iPhone Plus models will most likely use the A16 Bionic processor also seen on the iPhone 14. The novelty will be all within the Pro and Ultra models, which will almost certainly mount the Apple A17 Bionic, built for the first time with a 3nm process from TSMC.
